I really really want this to work, but it doesn't, at least on iPhones. The sync only seems to work while the app is open, it uploads JPEG instead of HEIC, and videos aren't uploaded at all.
I would be happy to pay money to make this work properly.
In the meantime, I pay extra for Google Photos (for display/search/tagging) and iCloud (for reliable auto backup) and need to find a way to automatically download the iCloud things to my Plex/NAS machine.
- dawnerd 7y agoYeah it definitely needs work. I primarily use it as a backup. Google photos is my primary because of their unlimited drive data. Although now that photos don’t show up in google drive I’m going to have to figure something else out.
- ianhowson 7y agoYou reminded me. GPhotos is stripping the GPS data from the photos, which is why I started using iCloud. I just want to take my data from here... and put it there... and not have it trashed along the way. I will pay money for this service.
