Yes, this is why I don't think Unicode is the right vehicle for emojis in the long run. They should be treated like graphics, not characters.
When they were really simple icons, it made sense to treat them as characters. But today they are detailed illustrations.
- rbanffy 7y agoThey have semantic value and can be included in document as characters. It makes sense to keep them as characters.
