There is happy music that isn't pop. I agree that "sad" music sounds more beautiful, at least to me, but I also see it as affecting my mood if I listen to it constantly. So I often choose either to not listen to music at all or to listen to "happy" music that doesn't suck, even if it's not so easy to find something I like.
