Is anyone here aware of some research trying to quantify the death toll of such a large-scale quarantine?
For instance, closing universities could result many years later in ill-trained doctors and then bad diagnostics.
The economic downfalls could result in an increase of poverty and homelessness-related deaths and suicides.
- llamataboot 7y agoWhat? I do think that doctors in training will be able to go back to school in a few months. Have you missed the part about hospitals being on the edge of being overwhelmed already?
- federicoterzi 7y agoItalian student here! Now most universities offer remote lessons/exams over the internet (in my case with Microsoft Teams).
- aaron695 7y agoA human life is worth around $2 million in the West. Estimate the economic loss and you have a back of a napkin death toll. But no, people don't seem to be talking about it.
