The 13th amendment loophole expressly permits slavery of prisoners. 13 a never ended the practice, it just hid it from the public and claimed to end it. And Lincoln is an overly-lionized figure that the vast majority of people are brainwashed to ignore the facts because of a totem fetish.
Prisons are the modern plantations and corporations are the plantation owners.
- gowld 7y agoCan a "loophole" be "expressly"? It's not a trick, it's a straightforward statement of the author's intent. It's a loophole that permits slavery of non-prisoners by virtue of a corrupt prosecution and jail system that puts people in prison for longer than they deserve and then extends their sentences unreasonably for in-prison violations, allowing slave labor dor the duration of their excessive imprisonment. Most modern prison labor isn't even "slavery" under the 13th. It's using a different loophole -- indentured servitude to reduce inflated sentences, and offering monopsonistically-suppressed wages and monopolistic "company town" prices for basic living supplies.
