Apologies for the unrelated comment, but is “noughties” a common term for the 2000-2009 decade?
I’m on the East Coast of the US, and though it makes sense, I haven’t seen it before.
- reportingsjr 7y agoIt is not incredibly common, but you see it every now and again. It was was also used for the 1900-1909 decade as well.
- to11mtm 7y agoOn the East coast too, it's not that common. I once heard it by an overly pedantic gentleman... But his pronunciation made me giggle so I started using it.
