One of the ways people have tried to solve this is with legislation that requires the public defenders office to be funded at the same level as the Prosecutors office. it will not eliminate the inequality, for sure, but it would be a step in the right direction and in some area's the public defenders get less than a dime for ever dollar the Prosecutors office receives in public funding
