- X6S1x6Okd1st 7y agoWhy do you feel like overfunding causes a no skin in the game situation?
- cheez 7y agoOn the contrary, there is a lot of skin in the game. They need to maintain and justify their employment without the pressure from a free market. Which means their jobs must be harder, and require more funding through the most tenuous of reasons.
- Barrin92 7y agoI'd rather have a well-funded rather than poorly funded police force but this is largely orthogonal to the issue of American police having way too many rights to invade people's privacy. And I don't think it is just the police. The pervasive erosion and negligence of privacy in American culture, in general, is the issue. Whether it is neighbourhood militias policing minorities, ring doorbell surveillance, gung-ho cops, government surveillance, celebrity stalking paparazzi or people on subway stations filming sleeping passengers or whatever else, there's a pervasive culture of paranoia and surveillance.
- wolco 7y agoIronically police are over funded when compared to social services in the same area.
- scarface74 7y agoYou mean a well funded police that has all sorts of military weapons so they can call SWAT for the most minor of incidences?
