What surprised me was that they were using 15k rpm drives over SSD's for database lookups. Any idea why?

- alanh 16y agoWell, it’s 2009.
- icefox 16y agoAsked them about this recently and the answer was that the io wasn't a problem. Better bang for their buck elsewhere.
- cullenking 16y agoSSD's can't handle the amount of writes github tosses at them.
