I've found it helpful to view this data as time series (so that trends are more apparent). This site uses this same dataset but shows historical trends per country/region:

- zachguo 7y agoInstead of the accumulated total, a better metric for showing trends is the number of daily new cases, it shows whether the infection is accelerating or not.
