In my opinion, critical code like this must be formally verified.
- vardump 7y agoNot sure how formal verification would have helped here. DMA access is allowed at boot up, game over.
- AnimalMuppet 7y agoIn principle, you could consider validating the system, not just the software. It might reveal such a gap. Note well: I am not claiming that the tools exist currently to do this.
