Do you mean Coreboot? Because as far as i know Libreboot still only supports Core2 era hardware. Ivy Bridge would be a huge upgrade in comparison.

- mindslight 7y agoOops, yes. What I actually meant is blob-cleaned coreboot (ie Thinkpad X230). FWIW Libreboot proper does run on IvyBridge-era Opteron 6300.
- floatboth 7y agoThe blobs you have to include in Coreboot for modern CPUs don't have much to do with technical restrictions. A pwnage of the ME does not do the reverse-engineering-and-rewriting effort on the FSP for you.
