I agree, and the arena movement in tcmalloc solves the over assignations in ptmalloc when one thread allocates and other frees. Nevertheless I prefer jemalloc

I agree, and the arena movement in tcmalloc solves the over assignations in ptmalloc when one thread allocates and other frees. Nevertheless I prefer jemalloc because I find the stats and memory profiling awesome to find leaks or structural over assignation.
