Overzealous mods?
- enchiridion 7y agoCould be. Either way, I get the same feeling of paternalistic calming that's coming from most mass media. Not something I would expect here. Let the information flow. Generally, the people here seem resourceful. More information leads to better decisions.
- electriclove 7y agoThere is some excessive moderation taking place on reddit in regards to coronavirus discussion. I've been using Twitter and bno's site to stay abreast of things.
- enchiridion 7y agoI don't know about the rest of reddit, but r/coronavirus seems pretty good.
- electriclove 7y agor/covid19, r/coronavirus, and r/china_flu are run by the same group and have varying levels of moderation. r/wuhan_flu is uncensored but has been quarantined.
- quietthrow 7y agoMods??? Does HN have people moderating ?? I thought this was all driven by algorithms whose inputs came from people upvoting or down voting and people with lot of karma can in effect boost or bury posts. Genuinely curious here if there are moderators? And if so who is paying them ? How are the organized such that there is 24x7 moderation?
- lucozade 7y ago> Does HN have people moderating ?? Yes
- LifeLiverTransp 7y agoDang they must be well hidden and sneaky. Like News-Ninjas in the night. Now one babbles, a silent woosh of air- and only crickets.
