not op, but i'm presently working on a project with a simple old school “no clientside deps, complex logic goes on the server” requirement, and i don't actually feel like i'm doing anything much different than when i work on react.
the project is pretty simple, and modern js is significantly improved, so the notion that you have to reinvent the wheel seems false.
- ng12 7y agoIf you don't find yourself reinventing wheels then you made the right call -- your project didn't need a framework to begin with.
- yellowapple 7y agoAnd even if you do find yourself reinventing wheels... well, if nobody reinvented wheels we'd be driving cars with wooden wagon wheels instead of pneumatic tires ;)
- svrtknst 7y agoAnd it's not like React, Angular, etc. development isn't "reinventing wheels", too. Different sets of wheels, maybe, but there's still a lot of repetition and doing the same thing over again.
