Because half of us realize that engineering is a tradeoff (in this case with things like device size/thickness, battery capacity, durability, water resistance, appearance, etc.), and a company making an engineering decision you don't agree with doesn't make them evil. While it might be hard to believe based on discussions on HN, it actually IS possible to debate the merits of a design without dividing into "attacking" vs. "defending" factions.
