- bayindirh 7y agoCan you please elaborate?
- zzzcpan 7y agoThere is an actual privacy community with Tor at the center of it, with plenty of research and serious ideas. And there is "privacy" propaganda that Mozilla and other corporations are putting out, it doesn't do anything good for privacy whatsoever, it's all bullshit. So calling it "fake sense of security" is somewhat appropriate here.
- bayindirh 7y agoI'm not against tor, I also support it but, the high cost of running exit nodes combined with suspected state-run nodes were also casting a shadow over tor when I last checked it. Mozilla's privacy run is not total stealth which, tor claims and strives to provide. On the other hand, Mozilla is providing practical cross-site tracking prevention which can be used by non tech-savvy people. IMHO, the tracking protection provided by Mozilla is beneficial for normal users. We, the more technical ones, can always setup or use something more advanced and elaborate as tor. As the cherry on top, some countries effectively block tor. Which leaves a bad taste in the mouth tbh.
