That sounds like a study of N95 masks vs no masks, not N95 masks vs surgical masks. Another study reported here on HN compared N95 masks against surgical masks for respiratory viruses and found no significant difference between N95 and surgical masks[0].

- vonmoltke 7y agoThat's not really what the study found. It found "there were insufficient data to determine definitively whether N95 respirators are superior to surgical masks". That is not the same as "found no significant difference between N95 and surgical masks".
