With this in mind, depending on what metropolitan area you are in/near there should be events... like BarCamp [http://barcamp.org/ http://barcamp.org/] or Refresh [http://refreshingcities.org/ http://refreshingcities.org/]. Traveling is definitely something I recommend as well.
