The notion that Apple should not be “allowed” to keep some software out of their App Store is nonsense. It saddens me that a person who claims to care about freedom also wants the government to forbid people from making editorial decisions on their private platforms.
- anoncake 7y agoYou might have a point if Apple did not control the only App store for iOS devices.
- JiNCMG 7y ago"only App store for iOS devices." which was created by Apple. Just like Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox.
- anoncake 7y agoConsoles are problematic for the same reason.
- powowowow 7y agoYes and they have a near total monopoly with their [checks notes] 20% global handset marketshare. You can't just go to Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Nokia, or anybody else and get one!!
- anoncake 7y agoDon't deny that lock-in effects are a thing. Not that it Apple's practices less grossly immoral.
