There are some interesting therapies on the horizon, basically a pill which contains an enzyme that breaks down the gluten before it can reach the small intestine [1]. I believe Coeliac disease will be cured in the next 20 years. The pathway to doing this is deleting the population of immune cells (T & B cells) which maintain the gluten sensitivity.
