I am not sure why I have been downvoted, but it is a fact that Feyerabend discussed that the Church was acting reasonable and rational in Galilei's case. This was well before this book, so I don't think the book's claim is entirely new.
- spindle 7y agoI agree - the book's main claim has been the orthodoxy in history of science for decades. (No doubt there are many new details in the book - I haven't read it.)
- selimthegrim 7y agoI've criticized Feyerabend in the past, but I entirely agree with him in this case.
