The single click mouse is the dumbest peripheral to have ever been invented, and I'm literally using right now (at work). They say less is more but this unnecessarily forces you to use a keyboard, and at times I've had to unplug the keyboard just to find myself in bad situation needing to right click.
- timw4mail 7y agoThe one button mouse came from the era of classic Mac OS, which had few contextual menus, and didn't really need the second button. Once OS X came around, the one button mouse made a lot less sense, though the transparent ones were even sort of cool.
- valine 7y agoThe magic mouse can right click without a keyboard, you click with your finger on the top right corner of the mouse. The top of the mouse is a touch surface so it knows when your finger is on the left or right side.
- dmart 7y agoPretty sure clicking on the right-side of the mouse has activated secondary click by default all the way back to the Mighty Mouse (2005), no? Even if not, it's one checkbox to enable it. You don't need a keyboard to right-click, that's absurd.
- proc0 7y agoNot this one. It does have a pseudo touchpad on top to use certain gesture commands but sacrifices the second click. Maybe the decision was to prioritize the touchpad on top, but alas bad decision although not unusable.

- snowwrestler 7y agoEvery Apple mouse sold for at least the last 5 years can do a right click. You may have to configure it.
- proc0 7y agoI found, it was a configuration and it was turned off. shrugs
- hhas01 7y agoConsidering the nature of this forum and its inhabitants, in combination with the topic at hand, there is very rich irony in this. Nevertheless, it does prove the point: whether power user or punter, Poor Discovery Bad.
- robertoandred 7y agoSo just right click then? What's the problem?
- proc0 7y agoIt doesn't work, maybe it's a config but just plugin it in has no right click.
- Smoosh 7y agoAre you using an Apple Magic Mouse? It does support right clicking (though it doesn't have a separate physical button). https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207700 https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207700
- proc0 7y agoYes, but right clicking anywhere does not work. Maybe it's configurable, I did check that.
- Geee 7y agoJust go to mouse settings to enable it. It works perfectly fine.
- d0100 7y agoFor some reason a single buttom mouse makes me feel super dumb. Feels less like a tool and more like a giant red press-me button
