Better tools exist. Someone was just trying to have fun, ffs. Your approach to work/learning might not necessarily reflect the others'. Picking a technical detail (bear in mind, almost everyone here knows about SVG, WebGL etc...) seems a bit ironic to me, as you mention "pain" and "self harm", whereas the reply by itself seems to lack empathy. Or, an understanding of context.
