You shouldn't have to choose a 'fundamentally parasitic' app in order to get nice content. Its not like you're making a good trade-off. Its not like "oh record everything about me and everyone I am near, just so long as you give me good feelings instead of arguments!" sounds reasonable. Yes reddit is a cesspool, and even HN seems to be slipping perceptibly, and no I can't think of anywhere nice and safe, but that doesn't mean tiktok is a good choice for anyone.
