I have no experience driving a Tesla on autopilot, but as a flight instructor I totally relate to your comment about monitoring. Same goes for when I’m in the passenger seat of a car - I still monitor. I still look left/right when turning. I don’t know if there is any additional education involved when buying a car with autopilot, but maybe that would be a good thing to learn about the risks and limitations using the equipment.
