ZFS on Linux repo renamed to openzfs/ZFS
- whalesalad 7y agoThis is a much needed rebranding from zfsonlinux.
- pnako 7y agoI don't get it. Is file system branding that important?
- whalesalad 7y agoBranding and marketing is the most important thing in the universe for an open source project.
- ncmncm 7y agoCan't tell if that is sincere or snarky. So, you win? But, in all seriousness, why did this need to happen, and what is its significance, if any? Should I be trying to interpret it, or is it just "here's the new name, just so you know it's the same project when you hear aboit it"? And how about zstd, anyway?
- DogRunner 7y agoAwesome! Hopefully there will be some more activity on the pull requests as well, as there are a few nice features waiting so long to be included.
- rkwasny 7y agoTrue, for example zstd support has been in the queue for ages
- berbec 7y agoCan you resize a zpool yet?
- silverreads 7y agoNot as well as JFS2 nope.
- aidenn0 7y agoSure; you can grow it.
- rudolph9 7y agoDoes it still have a license that raises concerns about Oracle potentially squeezing users of zfs?
