It seems like an entirely harmless belief system, so I'm not sure why you'd want to try and talk them out of it, unless it's leading to dangerous behavior on their part. It reminds me of Sherlock Holmes, on being told that the Earth goes around the sun: "Now that I do know it I shall do my best to forget it." [...] "What the deuce is it to me?" he interrupted impatiently; "you say that we go round the sun. If we went round the moon it would not make a pennyworth of difference to me or to my work." Better a flat-earth obsession than getting into colloidal silver or those shoes with the little toes.
