My wife and I have been trying to work with the local city/county governments to try and build an Earth Bag style home. We both love the idea of a more natural building material and the fact that we (and some family members) can do the construction ourselves over a longer time frame. However, the city isn't exactly willing to accept the construction method due to it not being standard techniques. I get that it's harder to know what to inspect, but it's a pain that it's so tedious to try and get it approved.
