This seems really wrong in my experience. In 1993 my friends and I were playing anything we could get our hands on. Adventure games, solitaire games, flight sims, racing games, first person shooters - everything was just so damned amazing and novel you wanted to experience it all. It was just too early to have developed very specific tastes.
