That might work for video games, but in a web company I've seen so many throwaway bash, perl or python scripts wrapped in an `system(*command)` that are unmaintainable and sometimes cause RCE or injections bugs. I feel that this advice only fixes the symptoms and not the underlying root cause. This is a culture issue, not a technical issue.
