I tried to tell them that, but they didn't believe me. (I also tried to tell them that NNTP should be better than using a web forum. They did believe me about that, but nevertheless failed to set it up.) I think IRC is better. (I think you can also bridge Matrix with IRC, in case you want to have both. Or maybe you can also bridge IRC with Mattermost; I don't know. But they recommend Mattermost, so if you can bridge it in this way, then it can be helpful.)
