It's probably intentional, because "git" is also an insult to imply somebody's dumb.
- dflock 7y agoTrue, but the name `git` came from the open source SCM tool, written by Linus for the Linux source code - and now everyone is sort of stuck with that name. This is a commercial product, deciding on a name for themselves.
- dflock 7y agoAlso, at least in British English, calling someone a git doesn't mean "dumb" it means "mean/nasty/malicious".
