If businesses treated take homes with diligence and treated interviewees respectfully, I wouldn't mind reasonable take home assessments. This means the company is required to at the very least to send a "declined appplication" communication and not ghost. Ideally, a business would give feedback as well but I understand there are people who quibble into lawsuits instead of integrating constructive criticism to improve themselves. With the current lack of professionalism and respect in the hiring process industry wide, take homes as is are a good way to waste significant amounts of time when job hunting.
