What Are Obama, Zuck, Jobs & Other Silicon Valley Tech Stars Toasting To?
- kschua 16y agoPity the man without whom most of these people would never had made it was not in the table - Tim Berners-Lee
- dansingerman 16y agoAren't all the guests American? Tim Berners-Lee is British.
- fuzzmeister 16y agoOriginally, but he now lives in Massachusetts.
- patrickk 16y agoYou could also throw in Fairchild Semiconductor, Bell Labs, Xerox Parc....
- ryandvm 16y agoI'm assuming the ostensible point of the meetup was to exchange thoughts with the current movers and shakers of technology, and not to just reminisce about the 90s. I didn't see Vint Cerf either. ;-)
- pclark 16y agoWhat influence does Tim Berners-Lee have today?
- barredo 16y ago"To Microsoft and Intel!"

- lpereira74 16y agoThey are toasting to the New World Order and how much power and control they have over our personal daily lives.
- edw519 16y ago...both Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg got the prime seats at the table, both seated next to President Obama... Sounds more like Obama got the prime seat at the table.

- ck2 16y agoI'm just glad it's not closed-door and off-record like Cheney's meeting with oil execs in 2001 where we find out about it years later and wonder why we are paying $3/gallon. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11/15/AR2005111501842.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/11...
- anamax 16y agoDamn that Cheney - he's been out of office for over a year and gas keeps going up....
- ck2 16y agoWe were carefully trained to accept $3 gas from 2001 to 2009. http://zfacts.com/metaPage/lib/zFacts-Gasoline-Price.png http://zfacts.com/metaPage/lib/zFacts-Gasoline-Price.png There was a "reset" after 2009 but it's climbing again as they "test the waters"
- spitfire 16y agoThat's quite a random bunch. A few dotcoms, a few established tech companies, a few zombie tech companies, some academics, industrial tech companies and a biotech... It'll be interesting watching what comes of this.
- rospaya 16y agoAm I the only one thinking where is Microsoft in this? Some of the companies represented are in the same way old school giants like Microsoft is.
