I believe that most members of the US military believed the second Gulf of Tonkin incident was real at the time -- one hand can believe lies the other hand tells. I'm also not arrogant enough to believe anything with 100% certainty. I think we're probably looking at the US government (and potentially the Soviets) not admitting to saucer shaped crafts (whether or not in preparation for a false flag), but I'll grant you that there is some hard-to-pin-down chance of genuinely weird shit going on. Even if we're going down that road, I'm betting an aquatic origin is more likely than an extraterrestrial one.
