Converting GIF to MP4 creates a much better user experience and lowers file size:
ffmpeg -i input.gif -movflags faststart -pix_fmt yuv420p -vf "scale=trunc(iw/2)*2:trunc(ih/2)*2" output.mp4
- LeoPanthera 7y agoThat makes a basic MPEG-4 video file, you probably want to specify h.264 by adding these switches: -codec:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 23 Increase "crf" for a smaller file, decrease it for better quality.
