It’s comical, but most people I see coughing or sneezing into their elbows, don’t even make a decent attempt at it. Their elbow is about 5 inches away from their mouth, which doesn’t suppress the saliva and air molecules coming from their lungs anyways. It might catch some of the spittle, but I’m sure most of it becomes aerosolized anyways. People, in general, are disgusting.
