As someone in the UK, this won't happen until they lower the prices by a tenth. It's insanely expensive and not feasible depend on it. It's so bad that the train companies themselves ask their employees use flights instead of the network railways to save costs. They're all owned by european governments, so they have no incentive to make things cheaper in the UK.
