Hangouts is actually one of the best messaging apps to this day, I'll be sad when it disappears. I love being able to send and receive messages from my PC and phone, seamlessly. And, probably the best part of all? All of my messages are searchable using Google's excellent search in my gmail inbox. I've been able to find specific messages I remember sending years ago. No other messaging platform does this (at least, not well).
