I was the other way I wanted to know how it all worked in great detail. Like magnets and EMF the forces is explained by showing lines of force but what are they? From what I understand the force is energy due to the exchange of virtual photons between the magnetic poles. I've also read that EMF is also due to relativistic effects. Moving and stationary charges differ in quantity due to contraction of the moving charges. Like charges repel so the difference creates a force. Take all that with a huge grain of salt.
