I have a hard time believing that straws are as big of a problem as they're made out to be. Or that reusable ones are the answer. I'd guess that reusable straws get used like twice and then get lost, and probably have a 50x carbon footprint to produce. If straws really are such a problem, isn't "don't use straws" the answer? Reusable straws just sounds like someone taking advantage of our altruism in order to sell us more junk.
