I buy a lot of bulk foods from the grocery store, and keep them in re-used containers from other food products. It still requires one time use plastic bags to move the food from the bulk bins to my pantry, but it's significantly less plastic. I'm nearly to a point where I don't need any more containers though, and I'm not sure how to cut back. It would make a huge difference if there was a way to buy more liquid/perishable foods in bulk but I just can't figure out what the logistics would look like.
