Isn't a monolithic service just kind of a single service micro-service system?
- WJW 7y agoNot really, in the same way that a single person is different from a "one-person team". Having to communicate across service boundaries is the main downside of microservices and that is not required in a monolith.
- NohatCoder 7y agoYep, and people have been splitting their code in all sorts of ways long before anyone called anything microservices.
- GrumpyNl 7y agoI dear to say that a well designed monolith has a lot of mini micro-services build in.
- highhedgehog 7y agoYeah I agree with that
