Not only is the actual authentication faster, most of the time when I use Apple Pay signature is not required. Even with large transactions it blasts right through and prints out a no-signature receipt. It's all stuff which I never cared much about but definitely enjoy when it works right. It doesn't hurt that with the Apple Card I get 2% cash back when I use the phone.
