There’s some incredibly dystopian social commentary for someone smarter than me to write about why WSB and Bernie are the number 1 and 2 subreddits right now. Speaks volume.
- detaro 7y agoWSB got a bunch of coverage in the past few days, including outside of reddit, for a few claims of people making crazy money betting on Tesla.
- tempsy 7y agoI just mean the juxtaposition of wsb and Bernie is interesting. I think both point to failures in our society to help young people succeed in this country. A middle class lifestyle could not be less guaranteed, so you have people desperately trying to gamble a few thousand into $100K in hopes of having some chance of paying off student loans or buying a house. Point is at first glance it would look like the two subreddits could not be more different but their popularity is actually rooted in the same issues.
