I am in Singapore right now, and this is untrue.
The government is just reporting infection cases as they show up, and tracing the patients' contacts to keep them under quarantine.
I suspect that some other countries in the region might have higher actual coronavirus infection numbers, but are reporting the cases as influenza or pneumonia.
- mytailorisrich 7y agoIs this propaganda? What is untrue? Singapore has the highest official numbers of cases outside China apart from Japan (but that's because of their cruise ship situation) and the situation is clearly not under control according to official news report. The latest report from Singapore is indeed local transmission including a case that had no known contact with other known cases. Third case in the UK is from someone who visited Singapore. New cases in France are from someone who visited Singapore. I'm not trying to make people panic but, reasonably, the same restrictions to travels as China should apply to Singapore at the time being.
