Watching the final season of Halt and Catch Fire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halt_and_Catch_Fire_(TV_series) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halt_and_Catch_Fire_(TV_series... felt like a 1990s search engine reunion :-) Highly recommended for anyone with 90s (or 80s) tech nostalgia
- vidarh 7y agoHalt and Catch Fire is criminally underappreciated. It did amazingly well at capturing the quirkier side of the home computer revolution first and foremost, but also the early years of the growth of the net, by not talking about the big, famous survivors.
- PopeDotNinja 7y agoIt was a great show! I wasn't in tech in the 80s of seasons 1 and 2, but seasons 3 and 4 felt like I was reliving the past.
- nashashmi 7y agoI learned about competing nets for the first time through that show. And then I learned what a vision the world wide web was. Amazingly one of the characters said he knows how horrible content becomes when it is open to just anyone. Well we got angelfire and tripod today to do just that.
