- tartoran 7y agoAnd renters have no choice but cough up the money because.. sleeping in parks, streets and under bridges ain't pleasant at all. It's a growing problem that slowly is becoming something impossible to fix. I personally don't see this getting fixed but getting worse over time.
- wan23 7y agoNot to mention that sleeping in public is illegal, but it's also illegal to create small affordable places to live. Apartments have minimum sizes, SROs are largely illegal, and good luck getting approval to legally rent out a basement or garage.
- perl4ever 7y agoThere's no law against a bunch of unrelated people getting together and buying/renting a big house. All you need is several wage-earners, and trust. I distinctly remember reading about people complaining that immigrants doing this were contributing greatly to skyrocketing property values and rents in some areas.
- Hfrt6 7y agoMy solution is to leave the country and watch the socio economic collapse from the sidelines
- ohiovr 7y agoWouldn't that entail moving to a place that has already collapsed or is in a state of perpetual poverty?
- maest 7y agoI'm not sure I follow - are you suggesting all countries but the US are in a state of perpetual poverty?
- yellowapple 7y agoYou don't even have to leave the country. Just move away from the coasts.
