Microsoft had a great system until the mid 2010s. Testers did an amazing job preventing crap from making it to customers. Developers simply don't make good testers. Unfortunately they decided to follow everyone else and destroy this along with replacing offices for open space.

Does this include things like Windows ME? Testers didn't do such an amazing job on that one.

  My take on the windows ME fiasco was the company's primary interest had shifted to getting NT (Windows 2000 later XP) ready and ME was a stopgap.
